(Q) WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR IDEAS FOR YOUR BOOKS? (A) The ideas for my books can come from anywhere at anytime. Here is an example: I was shopping at one of the stores near my home when I happened to overhear a child telling her mother why she didn't want to wear a certain piece of clothing. Most people would keep on walking and never think anything about it. But to me this could be the start of a wonderful story about the changing of times. In the days of my youth we did not have a choice of what to buy. Our parents picked out long lasting clothes that could be handed down to a younger sibling. (Q) HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH THE NAMES FOR YOUR CHARACTER? (A) The type of animal plays a big part in naming them. Each and every character in my story is multicultural. Some of the traits and characteristics are from people I've met along life's highway. These are just a few things I use in my process. (Q) HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WRITE A BOOK? (A) That depends on how well the book is outlined in my mind. I do a simple outline on paper. Most of the information comes later as I lay out each chapter. This could take any where from two to five months. (Q) IS THERE A LOCATION I CAN BUY YOUR BOOKS? (A) Yes, it is now being sold on this web site and many other online sites like amazon.com, eBay, Wal-Mart Books. You can also pick a copy up at your local book store. It may even be in your local library, just ask the librarian or check their card catalog. (Q) WHERE DO YOU WRITE? (A) I write everywhere. I even write in my car. (Q) WHEN DID YOU KNOW YOU WANTED TO BE A WRITER? (A) After I finished my first book. (Q) WHEN DO YOU WRITE? (A) There is no specific time I set aside to write. I write when I feel inspired. (Q) HOW MANY BOOKS HAVE YOU WRITTEN? (A) I have written five books. (Q) WHAT BOOK ARE YOU WRITING NOW? (A) I don't usually focus on one book. I'm what you might call a book writing multitasker. At any given time, I'm working on three or more books. |
